- Background
- Gala Group Ltd, as part of their national refurbishment programme, commissioned L&H Solutions to manage, co-ordinate and lead the design team for the two-stage refurbishment of their prestigious Barracuda casino club at Baker Street, London.
- The Challenge
- The two phases encompassed the stripping out of the former Oasis room casino facility and complete waterproof tanking installation to the basement area, creating an exclusive casino facility for ‘high rollers’. The facility provides Internet access, and consists of roulette, blackjack, poker etc. as well as the new electronic gaming systems developed by Gala.
- The Solution
- The works allowed for replacement of specialist tables, seating, new suspended ceiling and floor finishes throughout, revamping all associated services and a decorative refurbishment to all public areas of the club to a very high standard. The casino remained fully operational during these works, with all the inherent disruption and security issues that this entailed. This challenging project was successfully delivered on time and within budget.
